A brighter hub for brighter futures

17 November 2025

As part of our longstanding partnership with the Single Homeless Project (SHP), members of our Oriel team joined forces with partners Cousins Group Ltd, AECOM and PIC Construction Group to transform a vital communal hub in Bloomsbury, a safe space for connection, support, and personal growth for individuals experiencing homelessness.

Across three days, our volunteers worked as a team to paint and refresh the shared areas, making them brighter and more inviting. They also supplied new furniture, helping to create a comfortable environment where residents can share meals and participate in activities such as art sessions, cooking workshops, and support meetings.

Sourabh Pancholi, Service Manager at SHP London Housing Advice & Interventions Service said, “A massive thank you to BOUYGUES UK and partners for their incredible support in transforming our hostel! These improvements have made the space far more welcoming, creating a positive environment that’s already helping us deliver more effective support and keywork sessions with our residents. The response from residents and external agency members has also been overwhelmingly positive. Everyone has highlighted how the fresh painting and new furnishings have brought a considerable uplift to the hostel’s atmosphere.”

Since beginning our partnership with SHP in 2023, we’ve been proud to support their incredible work in the community through a range of initiatives, from donating workwear and laptops, to funding a Christmas dinner, hosting an eye health talk and providing essential sanitary products.

Through the Bouygues Foundation grant, we’ve also sponsored €33,000 to support SHP’s ‘Potential for Young People’ programme, helping empower young people to build brighter futures.
