Cousins’ group company, Sharrocks, undertook the original painting and hygiene coatings contract during the construction of the PFI hospital, completing in 2003. They were then awarded the first five-year maintenance painting contract, subsequently securing a further five-year renewal.
We maintained a continuous presence at the hospital from 2002 to 2014. The size of the workforce on site would fluctuate to accommodate the programme demands. All work was undertaken during occupation of the hospital, and as a result Cousins had developed very robust procedures for working around vulnerable and unwell occupants with minimum disruption.
Areas in which we have worked have included new, build, alteration and refurbishment to all areas of the hospital.
- Common areas (corridors, waiting rooms, canteen)
- Specialist areas (kitchens, bathrooms, consulting rooms, operating theatres etc)
- Externals
- Ward areas
Hygiene Coating Systems have included:
- Eggshell and similar washable medium duty materials
- Specialist two pack epoxy and elastomeric coatings
