Our works consisted of applying Keim Lotexan to in-situ concrete slabs, which is a siloxane based water repellent impregnation product, used to reduce the water absorption of natural stone and is also used as a dust suppressant. Keim Concretal Lasur was also used for the same substrate in different areas. This is a low pigmentation silicate colour wash which acts as a stain that penetrates the surface of concrete, equalising colour variations and blemishes.
The Herbarium walls received SecilTEK SP 01, which is a water-based silicate mineral paint with water vapour permeability and a matt finish, designed to protect substrates with high water vapour permeability, with self- cleansing and water shedding properties.
Decorations to plaster board walls, and ceilings was carried out using Dulux Diamond Matt, with painted joinery receiving Dulux Diamond Eggshell. The natural timber was sealed using Mylands Polyurethane clear varnish.
